Weekend Camp at Zion

Friday, Daniel and I headed with Eric's parents down to an RV camp near Zion's.  Daniel did really well on the trip down (he had a couple rough patches) but mostly slept all the way down. We stopped in Fillmore to eat lunch and let Daniel eat and then made it the RV park about 3-4ish. Once everything was set up, Daniel had lots of fun exploring every part of his new environment! I was also very comforted, Daniel slept really well every night in the motor home!

Setting off in the morning

Exploring while we were stopped for lunch.

Making a break for the door that's open!

Exploring after we were in camp.

Telling the toy how this is going to work.

Getting so good at pulling himself up.

Laughing at Papa when he put a toy on his head.

Saturday, Daniel was up bright and early at 7am.  Busy boy. After breakfast and getting ready, Eric's parents, Daniel and I went and wandered up and down the little street outside the RV park. We had lots of fun wandering in to all the great small shops that were all around and then we came back to the motor home and visited. Eric arrived later in the day, boy Daniel was happy to see his Daddy!

Shortly after Eric arrived, we loaded up into the pilot and went into Zion's and wandered the visitors center and signed up for a guided tour of the park the next morning at 845.   Then it was back to the motor home for a while before we had dinner and put Daniel down for the night.

Playing in the morning.

My cute boy stylin' cool sunglasses!

It is such hard work being pushed around in the stroller....

Pretty flowering cactus we saw on our walk!

Daniel was obsessed with this pink little people toy and pink play brush!

Sunday we went in to Zion's and did the guided tour which was really cool  and informative. Daniel had a few moments but we survived. After the tour we caught the shuttle up to the River Walk, and after unfortunately realizing that our carrier for Daniel was too small, I ended up carrying him up and back down the River Walk.  Going up wasn't bad because Daniel napped in my arms the whole way up, down was a little bit harder because he wanted to be and see everything, but it was still fun and I got exercise!!

After the River walk we went back to the motor home and had lunch and then Eric's parents watched Daniel for us while we went back to Zions and hiked the Weeping Cliffs and the Lower Emerald Pool trails. The views from both were absolutely amazing!!! Weeping Cliffs was short but a very steep hike!  It was fun to be able to get out just by ourselves!  Then we went back, had dinner and called it a night!

Poor, tired little monkey

A couple of views from the guided tour

Waiting with Daddy!

The incredible view from the Weeping Rock Hike!

We ran into these two fellows on our way to the Emerald Pool trail.

The view from the Emerald Pool trail!

Today we packed up and up to Clearfield to unpack our stuff from the motor home and load it into the car. We ended up visiting for a while (Daniel got a really cool block set from Tony and Anni for his birthday)  and had dinner with Eric's parents then headed home.  It was a great little vacation!

Some pics from today as we got ready to head home.
